10 books in 10 years
To preface this blog, nowadays it takes all my energy to read a book instead of scrolling reels because I can't get enough of that sweet sweet dopamine, but I have resolved to read more books to make my brain less fried.

So, without further ado, here is my list of 10 books I hope to read in ten years.
Syllabus for 10 years: this list of required reading for the next ten years of my life serves 3 purposes to get me off my technology more by entertaining me, to improve my critical thinking capabilities, and to actually educate me on things I wont learn in college
Book 1: The Odyssey
This book is first on my list because it has been on my bookshelf for 5 plus years and I have never read it. I have read the Iliad but not the Odyssey, which is kind of crazy. This book is like my White Whale from Moby Dick (also a book I haven't read) and I need to cross it off my list.
Book 2: Rich Dad Poor Dad
This is interesting because I have no money to save up or spend, but I've always been interested in personal finance. Being middle-class and hearing anecdotes of middle-class people not being able to retire or having to declare bankruptcy, I've always been freaked out that that may happen to me one day, so this book will give me ideas on how not to make that happen. Also, the author is always on some podcast talking sum bs about buying gold mines with debt.
Book 3: Meditations
This book is on the list because I always see people on the internet talking about how Meditations has some insight into philosophy and this has always interested me.
Book 4: The Road
The road is one of the books I should have already read over the summer instead of the summer reading book that I cant remember for the life of me. I have always been a fan of dystopian novels so this book seems perfect for me. also Instagram is probably more dystopian than the book.
Book 5: The Mahabharata
This is another white whale of mine as a hindu who has never read the whole 9 billion stanza Mahabhrata but has heard the story when I was younger. I remember the broad strokes plot of the epic but I want to gather some spiritually significant lessons I can apply in my adult life.
Book 6: Animal Farm
Again animal farm is another one of those classics that I have never got around to reading. I through enjoyed Orwells 1984 specifically because of how bleak the politics world was, but Animal farm seems to be a different take on political commentary of the 20th century and I am interested to see what it has to offer.
Book 7: Moby-Dick
This book is here because I said white whale twice before in the blog and have yet to read it. Also Star-trek references Moby Dick so I figured its worth a read.
Book 8: The Unabomber Manifesto
This pick will probably get me put on a list somewhere but ill just let it ride. this might be a quicker read than the other ones but I just want to know what could have possibly gone through this lunatics mind before sending bombs through the mail.
Book 9: Astrophysics for People in a Hurry
This is on the list because I am a fan of astrophysics but I don't care enough to actually study it so hopefully my boy Neil deGrasse Tyson can help me out with learning about that. Also a nonfiction educational book is needed on the list.
Book 10: The Divine Comedy
This choice is probably the least likely one that I would read but its on the list because it one of the most famous pieces of literature ever made and it is filled with allegories and symbols so I figure I would get something out of it.
